Looking for a new way to eat broccoli, and make a full meal out of it? Broccoli gratin is a wonderful way to do just that. As an added bonus, it will get your kids to like broccoli. Since I made this broccoli gratin, my youngest is constantly asking for broccoli! A wonderful family meal! Enjoy!
First, cook the broccoli in boiling water for 10 minutes. Then, put the strained broccoli in a pot on the stove, with olive oil covering the bottom of the pot. Add the minced garlic and the minced onion. On low heat, mix it all together so that the broccoli becomes covered with garlic and onion. This only takes a couple of minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Add the cream, and season with nutmeg, salt and pepper. Mix. Add the slices of turkey cut in little pieces, and 1/3 of the shredded cheese. Mix again.
Put the broccoli in a gratin dish (or similar dish that goes in the oven). Cover with the mixture you just prepared. Add the remainder of the shredded cheese. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The top of the gratin should become light brown. Enjoy!
If you are making this broccoli gratin for kids, you might want to put less garlic and/or onions, depending on the kids’ tastes.
