Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Though I love cooking and baking French food, every once in a while, I like to try an American staple like Banana Bread. My in-laws make the best Chocolate Chip Banana Bread, and for years, I have been enjoying their delicious Banana Bread, until it dawned on me to ask them for the recipe. It’s been a busy year, but I finally made the time to make this Chocolate Chip Banana Bread recipe. I am happy to report that it is as delicious as when my in-laws make it! The best part of this Banana Bread is that it is super MOIST! And, of course, the chocolate chips add an extra layer of deliciousness to it. This is really an outstanding recipe!

The picture does NOT really do justice to how delicious this Banana Bread is. You have to try it to believe it! The original recipe calls for nuts, but since my children do not like nuts, I chose not to include them. However, if you like nuts, feel free to add a mix of nuts to your Banana Bread.

Banana Bread is a great treat to enjoy anytime of day. It is also a good way to use ripe bananas that you might not otherwise enjoy.

To make this recipe, you will need a loaf pan. In addition, a hand mixer or stand mixer might be helpful.

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Using a fork, mash the bananas.
  2. Cream the sugar and the butter. To cream the sugar and the butter, first soften the butter (you can put it for a few seconds in the microwave, or leave it at room temperature for a little bit, so it softens). Then, mix the butter with the sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Add the mashed bananas and the eggs. Mix well. Combine the sour cream and vanilla extract and add to the mixture. Mix well.

  4. Add chocolate chips, and mix gently so as to not break the chocolate chips. Pour into a greased loaf pan.
