Chocolate and Pear go so well together, I really wanted to make a delicious cake that combined both flavors. Finally got around to doing it. This is a quick and easy chocolate-pear cake that delivers results!
Chocolate-Pear Cake Recipe
I am using a
French recipe from a fellow blogger (though I am using a little less sugar than she is). This is a chocolate-pear cake that is quick and easy to make. Enjoy!
Melt the chocolate and the butter together in the microwave (it took 1 minute and 30 seconds in my microwave).
In a salad bowl, beat the eggs. Add the melted chocolate-butter mix. Mix the sugar and flour together, and add them to the salad bowl. Mix, but not for too long.
Pour the mixture in a cake pan of about 9 inches. (make sure you butter the cake pan so the cake does not stick to the pan).
Remove the pears from the can (without the syrup), and place them on the chocolate cake.
Bake for about 25 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. If the middle part of the cake is still soft when you take the cake out of the oven, this is normal, it is meant to be that way.
Optional: sprinkle with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
Note: It is best when eaten warm/lukewarm.
Note: You can use fresh pears instead of canned pears, if you prefer.
