Chocolate Truffles are delicious chocolates, especially popular during the holidays. This recipe is so easy that kids can make the chocolate truffles themselves. It is fun to make as your roll the truffles in cocoa powder! A great activity, and a delicious sweet treat for the holidays!
Chocolate Truffles Recipe
I am using the recipe from French Chef Jean-François Mallet (Simplissime Desserts). I made a few adjustments to make it easier to make in the US.
Very Easy Chocolate Truffles
(recipe by Jean-François Mallet)
Melt the chocolate with the light cream and the butter in the microwave (it takes about 1 minute or so).
Wait for it to become lukewarm. Add the sugar and the egg yolk. Mix well.
Place in the fridge for 1 hour.
Gather the chocolate mixture into little balls (the truffles), and roll them in the cocoa powder.
Enjoy! They are even better after placing them in the fridge for a couple of hours.
Please note that since these truffles contain raw egg, they should be kept in the fridge and eaten within a couple of days.
