These delicious French holiday cookies are all made with the same dough, but come in 3 different flavors: mandarin, vanilla, and cinnamon. So fun to be able to enjoy 3 different flavors in the same batch of cookies! Plus, the recipe is quick and easy!
I used a cookie press to make my cookies. Alternatively, you could use cookie cutters. I recommend making 3 different shapes and 1 flavor per shape, which allows you to easily know which cookies are which flavors. My snowflakes are cinnamon, stars are vanilla, and flowers are mandarin.
You can find the recipe in French here. Please note, I made a few changes to it.
Holiday Cookies in 3 Flavors
Preheat oven to 390 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large mixing bowl, mix the all purpose flour, the baking powder, the sugar, and the almond flour.
Add the softened butter and the egg. Mix first with a fork, and then with your hands.
Gather the dough in 3 different balls. In one ball, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix with your hands until the vanilla extract is fully incorporated into the dough. In the second ball, add the cinnamon, and mix again with your hands until the cinnamon is fully incorporated into the dough. With a grater, zest the mandarin. Add the mandarin zest (just the zest, not the juice) to the 3rd ball, and mix with your hands until fully incorporated.
Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough from each ball, and use a cookie press or cookie cutter to cut out cookies in the dough. Use a different cookie cutter for each flavored dough so you know which cookies are which flavor. Place cookies on a baking pan covered with parchment paper.
Bake cookies in oven for about 7 minutes (they are ready when starting to turn slightly light brown). Enjoy!
