This is my French contribution to Super Bowl Party Food: Nutella® Soufflé! Easy to make, and delicious! Plus, because it is a soufflé, it is actually quite light.
Nutella® Soufflé Recipe
The recipe is from the French cookbook Simplissime Desserts.
You will need 4 ramekins.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Butter the inside of the ramekins. Sprinkle with sugar while shaking the ramekins, so the sugar sticks to the ramekin sides. See picture.
In a bowl, mix the egg yolks with the Nutella®. In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites. (To do so, add a pinch of salt, and use an electric mixer. Whisk always in the same direction, gradually increasing speed until the egg whites are stiff.) Add 2 tablespoons of sugar, and continue whisking for 5 extra seconds.
Gently incorporate the Nutella® mixture to the egg whites. Pour into 4 individual ramekins.
Bake in oven for about 20–25 minutes. Do not open the oven during that time. Eat immediately.
Optional: sprinkle with sugar before serving.
